

About Us
Mahalaxmi Mahila Mandal, established in 2005–06 under the Government of Karnataka, is a registered NGO based in Belgaum district. The organization is dedicated to empowering women from marginalized and disadvantaged communities. Through education, skill development, and livelihood opportunities, it works to promote dignity, independence, and self-reliance among women and adolescent girls. With a rights-based and community-focused approach, Mahalaxmi Mahila Mandal continues to create pathways for sustainable growth and empowerment.
What We Do

Our Projects

SAMARTHA
Sewing Machine Operator Training Program IImplemented with the support of KSTIDCL, Government of India, this program trains women in industrial garment production. It includes certified training, industrial machine handling, and soft skills, while also connecting women to employment opportunities in garment industries.

TAILORING TRAINING PROGRAM
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​CSR InitiativeFunded by the Infosys Foundation, this project provides free tailoring training to underprivileged women. The initiative also integrates financial literacy, marketing skills, and free sewing machines. Women are encouraged to set up home- based tailoring units or small businesses.

PM VISHWAKARMA SCHEME
Supported by Rooman Technologies, this scheme offers hands-on training in traditional skills such as tailoring, carpentry, and floral artistry. Women are given toolkits for each trade and guided towards self-employment and entrepreneurship.
